Covid-19 Cancellation Policy Update
This clause overrides our standard cancellation policy and we provide a full refund less any bank transfer cost, up to 7 days before arrival if due to Covid restrictions in originating country or in Jamaica. We provide a full credit if you cancel within 7 days of arrival for a booking to be taken within 2 years. The Covid-19 Cancellation Policy relates only to accommodation and tours as flights are not booked with or through Green Castle.
*Cancellations and amendments made to booking. You have the right to cancel your booking with Green Castle Estate at any point, however cancellation charges will apply. If you wish to amend your reservation then if we are able to make the requested change a fee of US$ 50 per transaction will be made to cover administration costs. More than 90 days – a full refund less the transaction fee of US$ 50.00. more than 60 days – 50% refund less the transaction fee of $50.00.
For reservations during the Christmas and New Years Period no refunds are applicable after 30 November for no shows or early departures. Should your plans change up to a month before arrival you may move your booking to an alternative date (based on availability) and apply your full deposit less an administration fee of US$ 50.00 to the new date.
Birding tours and birding vacations during season November to April. If you have to cancel for whatever reason within 3 months of the season start of November 1st, we are unable to refund but will be pleased to arrange a new date for arrival within 12 months at no additional cost. Otherwise a refund for May to October bookings is in line with the normal cancellation policy above *
The terms and conditions printed below constitute Green Castle Estate’s contract with you for the sale of accommodation. Your booking made via this website is subject to the condition of you accepting these terms. If there are any parts of these terms which you do not accept then you must not proceed with this booking. By completing this booking you are acknowledging that you have fully read, understood and accepted these terms. Payment for the requested reservation must be paid in full, on booking, by credit card via a secure payment system. We accept Visa and MasterCard. Our booking system is fully secure. We guarantee that the rates quoted are the best available. You will receive an email by return during our office hours. Please note if you are booking one of our packages we will need to confirm your proposed dates with our partners and birding or tour guides. In some cases this can take up to 48 hours to confirm, we thank you for your patience in advance.
Standard Deposit is usually 20% but with birding tours it is 50% and balance within 60 days of arrival.
Payments made by wire transfer do not incur a surcharge.
Payments made by credit card over the phone or onsite incur a 3.5% surcharge.
Payments made by Paypal incur a 3.9% surcharge.
If your reservation is affected by a hurricane or other natural disasters your deposit will not be lost. We will retain your deposit and payment as a credit to you so that you can book an alternative date.
‘Force Majeure’ means any circumstances which are unusual and/or unforeseeable which are beyond the control of Green Castle Estate, the consequence of which could not have been avoided even if all due care had been exercised, including (but not limited to) war or threat of war; riot; civil strife; hostilities; political unrest; government action; industrial dispute; natural or other disaster; nuclear incident; terrorist activity; weather conditions; closure of airports; fire; flood; drought; re-scheduling or cancellation of flights or alteration of the aircraft type by an airline and technical problems with transportation that are outside our control. Compensation will not be payable and we will not otherwise be liable to you if either we or you are forced to cancel, delay or curtail or in any way change your reservation as a result of ‘force majeure’ as detailed above.
This contract is governed by Jamaican Law, and the jurisdiction of the Jamaican courts.
Changes to Your Booking
Changes are subject to availability. You can request a credit voucher. This must be redeemed within 3 months of issue and must be used against a new booking. The voucher is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash. For the avoidance of doubt any cancellation of a reservation during November to April 30th which is prime season can be rescheduled for a later date within a 12 month period as long as 90 days notice is given, at no additional cost.
If you are unable to travel, in certain circumstances which are considered reasonable, the booking may be transferred to another suitable person, however the tour arrangements must remain the same. If a transfer is allowed an administration charge of US$ 50.00 per booking plus any additional charges that might arise as a result of changing the dates will be made if we are advised up to at least a month in advance of the arrival date.
Travel & Cancellation Insurance
We recommend travel insurance to cover any possible fees or extra expenses that you could incur for unutilised rooms due to possible changes in your travel plans, whether due to flight or other travel delays, bad weather or other reasons that are beyond our control.
It is strongly recommended that full travel insurance coverage is taken out that will cover, under certain circumstances, against the loss of deposit or cancellation fees.
By submitting your credit card details for this reservation, you acknowledge having read and accepted the general booking conditions, deposit and cancellation policy of Green Castle Estate and hereby authorise us to debit the credit card indicated for the amount shown. Also, please be aware that there is an additional $3.00/nightly local room tax fee.
