The large size of Green Castle means we have a diversity of ecosystems, including fresh water ponds, a mangrove swamp, streams, forests, pastures and coastline.

“Endemism” is a term that refers to the geographic range of a species. A bird that is endemic to Jamaica is one that is found only on the island of Jamaica and nowhere else in the world.

"Green Castle was the perfect place for an Ecology field trip. We were surrounded by unspoiled woodland and rough pasture, with the sea being only a stones throw away. The staff at Green Castle were very accommodating, although I get the feeling that they were surprised by how much 17 hungry teenagers can eat. Where else can I stay in total comfort - I even got a pool with a view. I will definitely be back in the spring."
